Before You Call, If You Can
If the water is still running and you can safely reach the shut-off valve, close it. If the wet area contains outlets, power strips or an appliance that is still plugged in, kill that circuit at the panel. Neither step is required — call first if you are unsure or the panel is in the wet space.
Beyond that, leave the damage as it is and take pictures before you move anything. Cleanup can start the moment a crew arrives; the photographic record of the untouched scene cannot be recreated afterward.
